Strategic Leadership and Decision-Making
Judgment, Power, Risk, Negotiation, Crisis Leadership, and Responsible Strategy
Strategic Leadership and Decision-Making is a 20-lesson advanced course examining how leaders make responsible choices in complex, competitive, uncertain, and high-pressure environments. Students learn to distinguish strategy from ambition, activity, reaction, and short-term tactical success. They examine how leaders identify objectives, gather intelligence, test assumptions, evaluate risks, allocate resources, anticipate consequences, and choose when to act, delay, negotiate, delegate, adapt, or withdraw. The course addresses strategic planning, systems thinking, institutional power, timing, uncertainty, cognitive bias, negotiation, stakeholder analysis, crisis leadership, scenario planning, resource allocation, organizational politics, and decision-making under incomplete information. Students critically compare classical strategic thought with ethical and professional perspectives from modern organizational and decision researchers. Strategic ideas are not treated as instructions for manipulation or domination. Students are required to evaluate each strategy according to its factual basis, proportionality, ethical limits, human consequences, organizational purpose, and long-term sustainability.
